Kosmos Innovation identifies cost-effective, innovative technologies to improve the management of industrial residual materials. The goal is to find solutions tailored to each process that offer real potential for reduction, recovery, or value creation.
In many industrial processes, some of the materials used become residual materials that are difficult or costly to treat. Kosmos Innovation seeks to turn this constraint into an opportunity by recovering by-products and giving them new value as materials or resources.
Kosmos Innovation contributes technical and financial support to implementing selected technologies. These projects aim to reduce the volume of residual materials, lower treatment and landfill costs, and reduce the environmental footprint of operations.

Recover mining residuals while reducing emissions
Kosmos Innovation is involved in a project to recover value from mining residuals by extracting magnesium and amorphous silica.
Each tonne of magnesium produced and used in transportation reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 22 tonnes.

Replace chemical fertilizers with a biological solution
